Learn how to set your caller ID to show as an existing number you already own

The Verified Caller ID's feature allows you to set your caller ID to show up as an existing number that you already own when making outbound calls. This is sometimes known as number masking. Using a verified caller ID ensures higher customer engagement and makes it easier for clients to reach you. By verifying and assigning caller ID's to your AI agents, you create a more professional and trustworthy communication experience.


Setup

To start this process, enter a phone number that you own and click '+ Add Number.'

This will start the verification process and you will be given a Validation Code or One Time Passcode (OTP). In a few seconds you should receive an automated call to the number you submitted for verification in which you will need to input this Validation Code. Then your number should show the 'Pending' status.

It may take up to 24 hours to complete the verification once submitted. You can click on 'Check Status' to manually check the progress of your verification.

When the number shows a green 'Verified' status next to it, you're able to start using it for outbound calling! To do so, you can assign it to one or more AI agents.

  1. In the Verified Caller ID list, locate the verified number.

  2. Select Assign Agent.

  3. Choose one or multiple AI agents from the dropdown list.

  4. Save changes.

Deleting a Verified Number

If you no longer wish to use a verified number:

  1. Go to Settings > Verified Caller IDs.

  2. Locate the number.

  3. Click Delete.

  4. Confirm the deletion.

Notes & Best Practices

  • Ensure the phone number you enter is one you own and have access to. Unauthorized use of third-party numbers is prohibited.

  • Use your main business line for optimal customer trust and callback management.

  • If verification fails repeatedly, confirm the number is entered correctly and can receive incoming calls.

I did not receive the OTP call. What should I do?

  • Verify that the number entered is correct and can receive incoming calls.

  • Use the Resend Code option.

  • If the issue persists, click Check Status or contact Broccoli Support.

The status shows Pending even though I entered the OTP

  • Use the Check Status button to refresh. If it remains pending, retry the verification process.

Can I assign multiple AI agents to the same verified number?

  • Yes. A single verified number can be shared across multiple AI agents for consistent outbound caller ID presentation.
